Terms of Use — Squidir

These terms govern your use of Squidir (squidir.com), operated by SVERN. By using the site you agree to these terms.

1. The directory

Squidir is a public directory of European SaaS software. We aggregate publicly available information about software products for informational and discovery purposes. Rankings are algorithmic and transparent — never influenced by payment tier.

2. Product listings

Squidir lists products using publicly available information without requiring prior consent from vendors, consistent with industry-standard directory practice (used by G2, Capterra, AlternativeTo, and others). This is lawful because:

Information is sourced from public websites.
Descriptions are paraphrased, not copied verbatim (no copyright infringement).
VAT data is verified via the EU's public VIES registry.
No non-public or confidential information is used.

Vendors may claim, update, or request removal of their listing at any time. Removal requests are processed within 24 hours by emailing team@squidir.com.

3. Vendor accounts

Vendors who register agree to:

Provide accurate information about their product and company.
Not submit false EU verification data (VAT numbers, server locations).
Not use the platform to list products that are not genuinely European SaaS.
Not engage in review manipulation of any kind.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

4. EU Score

The EU Score (0–3) is Squidir's assessment of a product's EU data sovereignty. It is based on verified data and staff review. Vendors may not misrepresent their EU Score or claim a higher score than assigned. The score is informational — it is not a legal certification or compliance guarantee.

5. Prohibited conduct

Scraping or bulk downloading the directory without permission.
Submitting false or misleading product information.
Attempting to manipulate rankings or reviews.
Using the platform for spam or unsolicited outreach.
Reverse engineering or attempting to access systems beyond the public interface.

6. Ranking and featured placements

Organic rankings are determined solely by the public algorithm (EU score, reviews, completeness, age). Paid subscription tiers do not affect organic ranking position. Featured placements, when available, are clearly labeled as "Sponsored" and appear in a separate section — never interleaved with organic results.

7. Intellectual property

The Squidir brand, logo, and original content are owned by SVERN. Product names, logos, and descriptions belong to their respective owners. Vendors grant Squidir a non-exclusive licence to display their product information in the directory for as long as the listing is active.

8. Limitation of liability

Squidir is provided "as is". We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee that product information is complete, current, or error-free. We are not liable for decisions made based on directory information.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Spanish courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights under your local EU member state law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Registered vendors will be notified by email of material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
